- ★ ★ ★ ★ ☆It was something I just wanted to - visit these famous sale yards and take photos of cattle. It is often hard to take photos of cattle on properties as they often run away from the camera, and I thought penned up it might be easier to capture some images. It is FREE to visit, and they have big sales on Fridays so we set off from Rockhampton and arrived to see the action of the auction. One poor skinny cow sold for $20!! It is smelly, dusty, but most interesting to see the action. I'd go again. It was great. I think also it is a great place to take children to see one aspect of their food production.By Di Hill, February 01, 2017
